Donations break all records in San Francisco!

The Foundation enjoyed our most successful meeting in San Francisco, raising over $190,000 to support research and education. Donations made through registration started a very positive trend. The philanthropy continued at the AOF exhibit hall booth where over $95,000 from donors was augmented by a $25,000 match from Essilor of America. Thirty-eight lecturers redirected their honoraria to the Foundation. This along with CE dollars from the Academy Board provided an additional $27,500. The Foundation Celebration Luncheon was attended by 280 supporters and the silent auction raised over $10,000. Thank you everyone!

Already a longtime ally of the Ezell Fellowship program and sponsor to the Essilor Optical Technology Grant, Essilor of America continued their tremendous track record in support of the Foundation’s mission this year by sponsoring the Mike Daley –Essilor Ezell Fellowship, the annual AOF Celebration Luncheon and, for the second year, a generous $25,000 matching challenge to all donor contributions made during exhibitor hours at Academy San Francisco.

The American Optometric Foundation celebrated at the beautiful Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco the 2010 award recipients and honored the many contributors and sponsors who make the Foundation the leading supporter of optometric education, research, and leadership.
