The American Academy of Optometry publishes several journals and newsletters: Optometry and Vision Science (OVS) Journal For more than 60 years the Academy has published a monthly journal containing papers on the clinical and basic science aspects of optometry and vision science. Optometry and Vision Science is recognized today as one of the most prestigious optometric journals worldwide and stands as a chronicle of the scientific and professional development of the profession. Fellows, candidates, residents and post-doctoral students receive OVS as a benefit of membership. Optometric student Academy members may request a complimentary subscription. All Academy members receive free access to the online version of OVS. Eye-Mail® Monthly Eye-Mail® Monthly is the electronic newsletter of the American Academy of Optometry. Each issue features an article of interest, Annual Meeting and Academy information, links to useful websites and more. Members receive their issue on the first of every month. The History of the American Academy of Optometry: 1987-2010 The Academy is pleased to announce the launch of its most recent book, The History of the American Academy of Optometry: 1987-2010, written by Dr. Robert Newcomb.
