Summer Research Institute 2008

The Summer Research Institutes sponsored by the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association have been very successful in stimulating the submission of research proposals to the National Eye Institute, industry and other funding sources. The success of this program is best exemplified by the survey of past attendees of the Institutes who were asked to attribute their success in obtaining research funding which resulted from attending the Summer Institutes. The result was that more than $58 million dollars in subsequent research funding was attributed to having attended the Summer Research Institutes.

Application to attend this workshop is open to all optometrists. The deadline for receipt of the completed application form, CV and letter of recommendation is July 16, 2007.
