American Optometric Foundation Announces 2009 VISTAKON ® Award of Excellence Recipients The American Optometric Foundation (AOF) is pleased to announce the recipients of 2009 VISTAKON ® Award of Excellence. This award recognizes outstanding fourth-year student clinicians who have demonstrated excellent overall knowledge of the contact lens field plus skillful, considerate and professional care of contact lens patients during their optometric education.

Each winner will receive a $1,000 award and a personalized plaque commemorating their accomplishment. Full details of these programs and application guidelines can be found on the Foundation website. VISTAKON is proud to have partnered with the American Optometric Foundation for over a decade, providing over one million dollars of support for scholarships, residency awards, fellowships, and research grants. Through the outstanding support provided by VISTAKON over the past decade, we have enhanced the future of optometry through supporting students, residents and researchers, said Anthony J. Adams, OD, PhD, FAAO, President, American Optometric Foundation. Last October VISTAKON were recognized as the first member of the Foundations Visionary Circle, recognizing over $1 million of support. The American Optometric Foundation is affiliated with the American Academy of Optometry.
