Second European Vision Event (SEVE)

After the successful First European Vision Event (FEVE) that the European (Continental) Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry organized in 2004 in Oberhausen, Germany, in conjunction with the German Contact Lens Association (VDC) and the Dutch Optometric Association (OVN), we will organize a similar meeting in 2006. The three organizing associations hope that the European Vision Event will become a tradition that is organized every two years.

SEVE will take place from Friday afternoon, September 29, until Monday, October 2, in the Luise-Albertz-Halle in Oberhausen. Oberhausen is centrally located within easy reach not only for delegates from Netherlands and Germany, but also for international delegates who fly in through the international airports of Amsterdam, Düsseldorf or Frankfurt. Amsterdam - Oberhausen is only a two to three hour drive by car! The main meeting hotel, the NH Oberhausen Hotel, is located next to the convention center. 600 to 800 delegates are expected.

The program will be structured in three parts: on Saturday and Sunday in German, the VDC program on marketing and contact lens related topics; and on Sunday and Monday in English, the OVN and Chapter programs that will cover the whole spectrum of optometry. Workshops will begin on Friday afternoon.

Details about registration and hotel reservation will be available in May 2006 on the VDC Web site.
