Travel & Transportation

The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest airport to the Moscone Center West; it is located right outside the heart of San Francisco and services more than 30 million passengers each year. Aside from taking a taxi, there are other transportation methods to get from the SFO Airport to Moscone Center West (747 Howard Street; San Francisco, CA 94103):

• BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) - SFO BART Station is located on the Departures/Ticketing Level of the International Terminal (Boarding Area G side). Ride SFO AirTrain (located at the upper level of each terminal) to the Garage G/BART Stop. Take BART from SFO Station to the station closest to your hotel (2-4 block walk, see below). Powell Station is closest to most hotels and the Moscone Center West, Montgomery is a bit closer to the Westin (use New Montgomery St. exit from station), and Embarcadero Station for the Hyatt Regency. Fare: $8.10, travel time: 32 minutes.
• Shared-ride vans - Van service is available on a walk-up basis at the airport but passengers are advised to make reservations for service after 11:00 p.m. Shared-ride vans pick up on the Departures/Ticketing Level from the roadway center island at all terminals.Advanced reservations are required for rides to the airport.
• Cab - Approximately $33 to the various hotels

ATTENTION: International Travelers to Academy 2010 San Francisco
Effective January 20, 2010, countries that participate in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) will be required to comply with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) program. ESTA requires all international travelers from VWP countries to register in an online database on the ESTA Web site and fill out an application before entering the country by air or sea. If approved, the authorization is good for two years and can be renewed. Travelers no longer have to fill out an I-94W form before each trip. U.S. officials say ESTA will speed up the process for travelers, enable customs officials to screen passengers in advance, and improve security.
