Member Benefits sub-committee chair Loretta Szczotka-Flynn introduced a series of member benefits in Orlando. These will be described in greater detail in the January Section newsletter which will be forthcoming soon. An image bank, developed by CIBA VISION to be used by Section Diplomates, allows Diplomates a library of images to be used in presentations. A Section Google group site has been established that will allow members to share cases, resources, dialogue, etc. In addition, a new brochure entitled, "My Doctor is a Diplomate" will be available on the Section website to be downloaded for in-office use. |

In Orlando the Section leadership also had the opportunity to discuss the Diplomate program with many Section members and new Fellows. This is excellent time to write case reports, whether you are beginning to initiate the process or have already initiated it. Please do not hesitate to contact Clarke, Case Report Chair, Cristina Schnider, or myself if you desire any information or assistance in the process. You can also visit the Section website for more information. |

The Section's highest honor, the Max Schapero Memorial Award, is given in recognition of significant contributions to the field of cornea and contact lenses by virtue of publications, lectures, and research. The Founders' Award is in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Clinical Art and Science of Contact Lens Fitting. For nominations for potential 2010 Max Schapero and Founders' Awards recipients, please submit a cover letter and a curriculum vitae of the individual to be nominated to Awards Chair, Steve Grant (RX4U2C@aol.com), by February 10th. |

Once again a survey will be emailed to members during the month of January with the intent of obtaining ideas for new member benefits, programs, position papers, and resources. In addition, we are hoping that we can solicit interest with current Diplomates to become more involved in one of a number of ad hoc committees, including member benefits. |
