Built in 1892, the TECOline Streetcar system was Tampa's first electric streetcars. It reached its peak of popularity in 1926 with almost 24 million passengers, and ended just after World War II. Staging a comeback it connect 35,000 people to their downtown jobs once completed. Currently, it connects Channelside, Ybor City and Tampa for visitors and workers alike.
