Bringing health issues to the attention of the public and profession is the goal of the Section on Public Health and Environmental Optometry.
Our symposium for 2011 to be held in Boston is titled: "The Health Care Reform Act in 2011: Examples of what works for you and your patients."
The goal of this symposium is to bring together leaders in the area of health policy to take a sober look at what is in the Health Care Reform Act, and attempt to project how the bill as implemented will affect the practice of optometry, as well as its impact on our patients. The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion that will address questions from the audience. These presentations should be of interest to all attendees with a stake in the United States Healthcare system.
