Student Travel Fellowships Available 
for Academy 2017 Chicago

 


The American Academy of Optometry and the American Academy of Optometry Foundation provide a limited number of $750 student travel fellowships to encourage optometry students to attend the Academy meeting to exchange scientific ideas and research.
 

Materials MUST be submitted online by July 31, 2017. Letters of recommendation are due by August 2. Applications that remain incomplete after the deadline date will not be evaluated. 

Candidates applying for travel fellowships are ONLY eligible for ONE grant from either organization, per meeting year and are expected to be current Academy members in good standing.

 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Did you submit an abstract for the Academy's Scientific Program? Apply using the Academy's general STF application form here. Most of these awards will be given to students who are first authors of accepted paper/poster abstracts.
     
  • Are you interested in going into private practice? Apply to the Kirschen Family Student Travel Fellowship hereBeing an accepted presenter of a paper or poster is desired, but not required.
     
  • Are you a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) society and a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student? Apply for the BSK Student Travel Fellowship hereBeing an accepted presenter of a paper or poster is desired, but not required.

  • Are you an AOSA member and the first author on an accepted paper/poster abstract for Academy 2017 Chicago? Click here to apply for the AOSA Student Travel Fellowship.


Priority may be given to first-time awardees. While students are encouraged to apply for multiple awards if they meet the criteria for each, students are only eligible to receive one travel fellowship per meeting year. All awardees are expected to be current Academy members in good standing.
