Abstract A unique look at the differential diagnosis of dry eye disease through a series of patient cases with other masquerading ocular conditions, including binocular vision dysfunctions, is provided. Conditions with presenting symptoms and features that are similar to dry eye should be considered prior to making the diagnosis of dry eye. An overview of diagnostic criteria and primary care treatment options for these ocular masqueraders is included.
