Abstract It is convenient to diagnose amblyopia in cases of unexplained unilateral or bilateral vision loss. This course reviews interesting cases of retianl and visual pathway diseases misdiagnosed as functional vision loss, sometimes with dire consequences. Differential diagnostic criteria and testing procedures to rule out disease are detailed.
