This November at Academy 2018 San Antonio, the ASCO Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) will co-host two Ask the Experts ‘pop-up’ events for students/graduate students at the ASCO exhibit booth – Booth 1555. These joint ASCO-AAO events will feature experts from academia who will be available to engage in casual conversations and Q & A with students. Students considering a career in academe and research are the target audience. The first event will be held Thursday, November 8 during the student focus exhibit hall hours of 10 - 11:30 AM. There will be food, raffle giveaways and other surprises, and of course an invaluable opportunity for in-depth, one-on-one conversations with distinguished scholars/researchers who are willing to share their career journey and offer advice. The second Ask the Experts event will take place at the ASCO booth (1555) on Friday, November 9 from 10 - 11:30 AM Any student or graduate student interested in gaining insight into optometric research careers and pathways in academia are encouraged to attend.
