AMELANOTIC CHOROIDAL MELANOMA WITH AN UNASSOCIATED BILATERAL ADIE'S SYNDROME

Evelyn Perez

Abstract

A 26 year old white female presented with a recent onset of Adie's tonic pupil in the right eye. This was preceded by a similar event in the left eye 5 years ago. Further evaluation led to the discovery of a subretinal mass in the right eye eventually diagnosed to be an amelanotic choroidal melanoma. Various physical characteristics of the patient which added to the uniqueness of this rare case are reviewed in addition to discussing relevent issues surrounding the diagnosis and management of choroidal melanoma and Adie's syndrome.
