Dizziness and Disequilibrium are common sequelae seen in the optometric office. It is also the third most common complaint in office visits and is a common finding in concussion/minimal traumatic brain injury. It can compose of a number of etiologies including visual and vestibular input. We will review dizziness and include optometric interventions including visual hygiene, substitution strategies for symptoms, use of lenses, prisms, selective occlusion and visual/vestibular rehabilitation. Several cases will demonstrate effective strategies.
