CDC's Division of Viral Diseases within the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases recently released a new EKC infection control resource
Epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC) is a severe and highly contagious form of viral conjunctivitis (pink eye). EKC is caused by adenoviruses, which are often resistant to many disinfectants. CDC's new resource provides guidance on how to disinfect surfaces and equipment to help prevent and control outbreaks of EKC in eye clinics.
