About Us

The American Academy of Optometry–Pacific Northwest Chapter received its charter in October 2019, in order to promote Academy Fellowship and lifelong professional education and development among Washington and Oregon optometric physicians.

Caroline Ooley
President - Caroline Ooley, OD, FAAO

Caroline is originally from San Jose, California. She completed her undergraduate degree in Human Biology at UC San Diego. She graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2013 and completed her residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Portland VA Medical Center. Caroline now works as an associate professor at Pacific University teaching Systemic Disease, Anatomy, and seeing patients in clinic. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, international travel, brewing kombucha, making sourdough bread, and tending to her vegetable garden. 

Stacey K
Vice President - Stacey Keppol, OD, FAAO
Dr. Stacey Keppol is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor's degree in Comprehensive Science.  She then graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 2013, and completed her residency in Primary Care with an Emphasis in Ocular Disease from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus. Currently, Stacey practices at a surgical co-management practice in Seattle performing pre-operative care, post-operative care, and medical management of disease. She enjoys climbing, cycling, skiing, knitting, and baking sourdough. 
Sarah S
Secretary - Sarah Sandhaus, OD, FAAO
Dr. Sarah Sandhaus obtained a Bachelors of Science in Biology from UCLA and graduated from UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She completed a residency in Primary Care at San Francisco VA and currently provides patient care at a multi-specialty ophthalmology and optometry practice in Lacey, WA. In her spare time, she enjoys backpacking, snowboarding, photography, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
